Here are a few pictures of how my costume is going so far.

Below I am experimenting with cosmetics. I don't normally wear make-up so, it's taking some time to search for the right products
at the least expense seeing as I am currently out of a job.

I'm also experimenting with hair dye. If I can't buy the right shade that works on my hair, I'll have to have my hairdresser do it.
I'm going to try this one next - http://www.superdrug.com/content/ebiz/supe...08/113808_l.jpg

Shame I can't do the spikes on the heels. Blast.

Oh, and if anyone has any ideas about how to iron the red material in the correct pattern on to wet-look leggings then please let me know.
I know HOW the stuff can be ironed on, it's just the shape that's the problem. Can't exactly iron it on with me wearing them. It's stretch material you see.

Thanks. happy.gif'

I wanted to get as close as I possibly could with it. I can't really get the v shapes on the leggings as I would most likely ruin them if I did.

I don't know if you've noticed, but the costume in BR2 seems to change ever so slightly. Most of the way through the game (I don't know if it's only different on other versions of the game), the red pattern comes up in a rounded shape on a small area of the buttocks, whereas most of the screenshots show a complete red V at the back. The easiest way for me to do it will be the rounded shape.

This picture is from BR1, but the same pattern appears in BR2 as well
http://www.gamershell.com/static/screensho...8/8530_full.jpg

Yet in most screenshots of BR2 it appears like this...
http://www.angelfire.com/indie/videogames/rayne1.html

So, what I am doing is trying to make it still shiny (though the top I have isn't wet-look like the leggings or arm-warmers), but trying to look more like how Rayne appears in BR1. I find that in the cgi she looks a lot more creepy and sinister in the first game. I also didn't want to attempt 6 inch stilettos as I have NEVER worn high heels before in my life and can get the right look by wearing boots with a 5 inch block heel with a 2 inch platform. I'll try and get the red trims around the bottom of them if I can find a tape that won't rip anything when peeled off. I was more keen on being able to walk in them rather than attempting the stiletto style and end up breaking both ankles.

Hopefully we'll get some work done on the top (some of the red trims and on the sides, and the eyelets that need to go in). I have suspender straps too. You won't believe how damn long it took me to find a reasonably sized eyelet to put at the top of the back let alone how long I spent and how much I spent on getting the right top. It's not perfect, but it's as near as I am going to get.

imho your face, the hair and make-up are fitting really good
closer than any other "non-professional" i've seen wink.gif
now you just have to use the lipstick etc. while wearing the costume^^

you already mentioned the non-leather top
but i don't mind ...
looks still very wicked

nice work!

I couldn't find anything that fitted THAT tight in leather to be honest. The leggings are polyester and elastane as well, just wet look. I wanted to get the shininess if I could, but with the top...well, the cheapest bustier style top in leather was almost £70 and a.) I don't have a job at the moment, and b.) who'd want to alter a top that expensive?

The top I am using is the best I could find, and the closest I could get to how Rayne's top looks.

Regarding the make-up, I still need to work on it. I have eye-shadow on the way (a smokey sort of colour which looks fitting).
I am not planning on taking my eyebrows off though...thus far I've thinned them a bit. Gee I sound really girly (I'm not into cosmetics as a usual rule), but hey, it's Rayne and I have to get it as close as I possible can.

I'll be as close as I can get it, guaranteed. There are certain bits and pieces that will be substituted (like the thong over the top of the leggings because I can't get a pair of leggings with the right shape nor with a way I can do the criss cross in front and behind. I don't want anyone to see my...............crotch either. So I am wearing a thong with the cross pieces on top. It makes me creak as I move...kinky. :-p

Hi again. I have a few more pictures to show.

I have worked out where the eyelets will be best place and in what numbers.
8 medium sized on the front (4 either side), one large one at the top in the middle (on the back), 16 small (8 either side) on the back all the way to the bottom.

On the back of the thong, 8 small eyelets (4 either side).

Top: front, back.
The red ribbon is going to be the trim work all the way around the edges.

Thong: 1, 2 (close up).

I also have a few pics of the second stage of what I'll be doing with the cosmetics.
Close up
Mirror pic 1
Mirror pic 2

At least I'm beginning to move with the top now. I need mum's help with it though, so she hopes to be able to help me with it on Tuesday (hopefully dad will be able to help me get the eyelets in before then).

EDIT: Nails.

I have done the template for the blades (roughly at least).
Balsa and cardboard
Template (mechanism and handle outline)
Template (full-length)

I'm hoping you guys will like how the template looks, because when my dad cuts the shape out
what's done is done. Obviously this is only a rough template and the actual shape will have to be
drawn out on the wood.

So, let me know what you think.

Thanks.

I have more updates for you as well.
See http://slimdefinition.blogspot.com (my cosplay blog) for the details.

Oh, and does anyone know where to get the Brimstone pendants from?
A friend said he can get me one, but I just wanted to know where because Google shows me **** all.
The substitute I have will suffice if I can't get one, but I want to try nonetheless.

Looking great! Way to go!
My last signature was too drawn out, rambled on for far too long, and appeared to be far too wordy and cumbersome to be of any practical use. Therefore, I wish to dedicate the current one to all the users of the Internet who feel they do not have the time to type properly and use proper grammar and spelling to the best of their abilities. The sheer amount of absurdity is... oh hell, never mind.

Thank you very much. happy.gif'

Perhaps once I've done this one I might be able to improve upon it given due time and of course, funds in order to do so.
My mum has put on some of the red outline trims on the top, but she hasn't been able to get them entirely on the edge as she's had to sew by hand.
Sticking it down with fabric glue would have been REALLY messy and may be liable to ruin it. You can see where the stitches are, but she's trying her best. We'll press it with an iron once she's finished the trims and when the red side "panels" as I call them are on as well.

I'm just astounded at the amount of cosmetic products I've had to purchase (good old eBay even for respected products) in order to do this. sleep.gif'
I looked into coloured contact lenses (both green and red), but a.) they're expensive, b.) they don't last long, c.) they have to be sterile (and I wouldn't want to put just anything in my eyes).

If you look at these eye pictures - http://www.cosmosmagazine.com/files/imagec...0070223eyes.jpg
My eyes are pretty much like the one in the very centre. Kind of green and grey with a tint of brown in the middle. They look more green in bright light (especially sunlight), but more grey in dimmer light. Shame I can't do any more than have almost the right eye colour, but I'm doing everything else in my power!

The top and the leggings are bought (but were plain black).
All the eyelets and red material on the top (as well as the black glossy paint on the front) have been added by myself and my mum.
The leggings have yet to be done. Cutting out the pattern correctly and the right size will be the pain for those. I am trying to get this
as near to 100% as I can, but it won't be entirely 100% unfortunately. Through adding the paint and red material to the top, it's lost a
lot of its elasticity, so doing much more to it will make it too small for me to fit into. It already....slightly squashes my uhh, upper torso
as it is - but not too much!

I added red insulation tape to the bottom of the boots to make them look as authentic as possible. There was no way I could do the
spikes on them to be honest. The 5 inch boots I will be wearing cost me about £26 and I wasn't about to chop the heels off. In addition,
they probably wouldn't allow me to wear them with such things stuck on to the ends due to health and safety rules. I can now get the
blades made out of a firmer wood than balsa, but I will only be able to wear them outside of the expo hall due to thousands of people
being inside. Wearing the blades on my arms in there would be dangerous as every time I'd bend them I'd probably smack someone
in the face.

I have my fangs as well! My friend bought them for me and said I could pay her back later. They're the Scarecrow natural smaller custom
fit ones. The thing is, they came off way to easily so I'll be embedding them on with fixodent (used for denches). I'll be able to take them
off easily...just with a bit more effort added.

It's easier if people just check my blog every once in a while. I haven't added fang pictures to the blog yet though. I'm waiting for more
updates so I can add more to a post.

ok i WAS able to make a piar of her shoes....the only problem is...the spikes kept either digging into the ground (causing me to fall back) and/or the tips of them get really dull, so unless i can find a good metal to make the boots with...i can't get any made at all..i would post pics.. but my camera is broken currently and i have no spare...also where would you get the brimstone pendant...i'm making the costume for a freind. blink.gif

I've made the pendant now. The one from the second game anyway.
Me and mum finished the top as well. Check the cosplay blog, http://slimdefinition.blogspot.com

The boots are as close as I can get them without the metal spikes. To be honest, realistically, the spikes are not very practical.
They'd be considered too dangerous to go to the convention I'm going to I should think. I have the boots looking as they should,
the heel is a thinner block heel with the two red stripes at the bottom. The only difference is that it goes all the way to the floor
instead of the spikes being there.

I'm going away this coming Saturday for a week, so I won't be able to reply until I get back if the replies are after then.
I don't often come on here at the moment either as I have so much to do as a writing course and voluntary course student,
trying to make the costume, trying write my book and also trying to find a job. x_x'

I hope what I have so far is to everyone's satisfaction though. happy.gif'

Where is your friend cosplaying then, Agent?

You haven't seen some of my other photos taken by a semi pro at London MCM Expo.
Go to http://cosplayisland.co.uk/costume/view/9141 (if it doesn't work, look up SlimDefinition on there).
That's still only a few photos. I have a few more on my Facebook album - http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2587...55580&saved
Adding my favourites gradually.

Thanks for the comment btw.
I'll certainly be cosplaying Rayne again and again. ;-)

I just watched yours pics @ cosplayisland.

"BloodRayne Cosplay (Videogame World Record) No. 202"

What is this ?

By far, it's the best Rayne costume that i have seen.

My congratulations to you, and to your father, who created the blades (as i saw in your blog).
