Hello, I recently purchased BloodRayne 2 and went to install it on my laptop running Vista Home Premium 64-bit. But I can't install the game as setup.exe doesn't do anything, it lies as a process in the Task Manager, but it doesn't do anything. I even left the process running for a couple of hours and went to do something else during that time, but still no luck. Anyone here that have got it to work on Vista x64?

What BR2 version did you get ? (CD/DVD/US/UK/International/...)

I remember that some early versions had problems with the installer, and Majesco was giving new working copies of the game to the users with problems.

I have the DVD version, and I believe I have an international (or maybe European) version.

(Possibly a sidenote, but I just found out that I can't install BloodRayne 1 either. I just tried out a friends copy of the game. In this case the installer launches, but stops at 99% (when loading the setup) and then disappears and leaves _ISDEL.exe hanging around doing nothing in Task Manager. (She has it installed and running without problems on Windows XP Media Center Edition.))

And also: Thanks for the reply!

I have the European DVD version too. I'll try to install it under Vista x64, and i'll tell you.

Very nice of you! I await your results. It might just be a problem with my Vista install as I have problems with both games, but hopefully we'll see after you have installed your copy.

I got the games to work now. I had to install them in safe mode, it was probably some service or process that interfered with the installation (possibly that I have Alcohol running?). But anyway, it works perfectly now smile.gif

If you running dual ram, try one only then the other one. Else maybe try new ram all together.

Vista is famous for its incompatibility with hardware. Windows 7 looks like its going to be much more stable and compatible. Why not return your Vista for a refund If they complain, get them to try install it on you pc and pre-order a copy of Windows 7 from Take2 or something.
